For over six decades, Podolinsky Equipment Ltd. has proudly served Southwestern Ontario as a trusted, family-owned John Deere dealership. What began as a humble, community-focused venture has grown into one of the region’s leading multi-industry dealerships — serving agriculture, powersports, construction, golf, and turf customers with the same dedication and care that defined our beginning.

Our Story

 

The Podolinsky story began with a bit of luck, timing, and a lot of hard work.

In 1964, Ludvik and Anne Podolinsky founded the business that would become Podolinsky Equipment Ltd. after a chance encounter. Ludvik, who had emigrated from Slovakia and settled on a farm in the Alvinston/Inwood area in 1939, happened to visit the local John Deere dealership in Inwood one day. When he learned that the owner was retiring and the franchise was available, he went home, gave it some thought — and the very next day met with a John Deere representative in Forest and signed the contract.
 

“I don’t think any of us thought the business would grow to what it has become today,” recalls the Podolinsky family.

 

Ludvik and Anne, along with their young family, began operating out of an old service station across the road from where the dealership stands today, east of Petrolia. Within seven years, the business had outgrown its original shop and moved across the road into a new facility — which has since been expanded multiple times to become one of the largest machinery dealerships in Lambton County.

 

Ludvik passed away in 1999, but Anne remained active in the business for many years, continuing the family’s tradition of hard work and dedication.
 

“We could not have grown the business to this size without good staff and I want to thank them for their commitment,” said Rick Podolinsky, reflecting on the company’s growth and the people who helped make it possible.

Leadership Through Generations

 

From its founders Ludvik and Anne, to their three sons Rick, Louie, and Dave Podolinsky, the business has been built on family values, teamwork, and a shared vision for excellence.
Today, the dealership continues proudly under the leadership of the third generation — Deanna Valiquette, Jason Podolinsky, and Patrick Podolinsky — ensuring that those same principles of trust, integrity, and innovation remain at the heart of everything we do.
 

A New Chapter: Our Expansion

In 2025, Podolinsky Equipment Ltd. announced the acquisition of Fulline Farm & Garden Equipment Ltd. in Glencoe, Ontario — a dealership that shares deep family and operational ties with the Podolinsky organization. The Podolinsky family has been involved with Fulline since its inception in 1987, working closely across decades of partnership in the John Deere network.

This acquisition marks an exciting new chapter, strengthening our ability to serve customers across agriculture, powersports, construction, golf, and turf industries. Podolinsky Equipment now proudly operates with two full-service store locations in Petrolia and Glencoe, along with a Golf & Turf service location in Orillia.
