What’s New in the 2027 Arctic Cat Off-Road Lineup?

Arctic Cat is bringing some fresh energy to its off-road lineup for 2027. Rather than redesigning every machine, the company has focused on filling important gaps, expanding its utility side-by-side selection and adding practical features across several models.

The biggest news is the arrival of the mid-size Prowler 500 and the new Alterra 110 youth ATV. Arctic Cat has also expanded the Prowler family to six models, increased the availability of WARN winches and improved visibility on its enclosed Prowler Limited models.

Here is a closer look at the biggest changes coming to the 2027 Arctic Cat ATV and side-by-side lineup.

The Prowler 500 Brings Back Mid-Size Utility

The headline addition for 2027 is the Prowler 500, a compact two-passenger utility side-by-side designed for property owners, acreage work, trail riding and everyday jobs.

Powered by a 443cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with electronic fuel injection, the Prowler 500 is smaller and more approachable than Arctic Cat’s full-size Prowler 800 models. Its compact platform should also make it easier to navigate narrow trails, wooded properties, barns and other tighter spaces.

Despite its smaller size, the Prowler 500 still delivers useful working capability. It is rated to tow up to 1,500 lb and includes a rear dump box for carrying tools, supplies, firewood or other cargo. Front and rear double A-arm suspension provide 7.5 inches of travel on the standard model, while selectable four-wheel drive gives the operator added traction when conditions get rough.

The standard Prowler 500 is offered in Marsh Green, while the Prowler 500 Limited is available in Black Magic and Tungsten. Canadian starting prices, including Arctic Cat’s published freight and setup charges, are $14,699 for the standard model and $15,999 for the Limited.

This machine fills an important space in the Arctic Cat lineup. Customers who do not need the size, seating or capacity of a full-size Prowler 800 now have a more compact and affordable utility option.

Six Prowler Models for 2027

With the introduction of the two Prowler 500 models, the complete 2027 Prowler lineup now includes six utility side-by-sides:

• Prowler 800 XT Crew
• Prowler 800 Crew Limited

The updated range gives customers a much clearer progression. The Prowler 500 models provide compact two-passenger utility, while the Prowler 800 models offer greater capacity, more seating and additional premium features.

Full-size Prowler 800 models continue to use an 812cc three-cylinder engine producing 48 lb-ft of torque. Standard-cab models can seat up to three people, while Crew models provide seating for up to six.

Depending on the model, full-size Prowler highlights include:

• 1,000-lb cargo-box capacity
• Up to six-passenger seating
• Selectable locking rear differential
• Up to 12.5 inches of ground clearance

The model names have also been simplified for 2027. Machines previously known as the Prowler Pro are now presented as the Prowler 800, making the lineup easier to understand alongside the new Prowler 500.

New Alterra 110 for Younger Riders

Arctic Cat’s other major new model is the Alterra 110. This youth-sized ATV takes over the position previously held by the Alterra 90 and introduces a larger engine, electronic fuel injection and several parent-focused safety features.

Its 112cc four-stroke engine is paired with an automatic CVT transmission, making it easier for a new rider to operate without manually changing gears. Electronic fuel injection should also provide more dependable starting and smoother performance in changing temperatures.

For parents, an adjustable throttle and speed-limiting governor allow the machine’s performance to be restricted based on the rider’s experience. Adjustable spring preload shocks, a high-visibility safety flag and front and rear lighting add to its beginner-friendly design.

Alterra 110 highlights include:

Youth riders should always operate an age-appropriate ATV under adult supervision and wear an approved helmet, eye protection and proper riding gear. Owners should follow all instructions and warnings in the operator’s manual.

Useful Improvements for Prowler Limited Models

Arctic Cat has made a practical visibility upgrade to its full-size enclosed Prowler Limited models.

For 2027, these models receive a fixed-position glass windshield with an integrated wiper and washer system. It is not a dramatic mechanical redesign, but it addresses a very real problem for customers using their machines in rain, snow, mud or dusty working conditions.

The enclosed Prowler Limited models are positioned for customers who use their side-by-side throughout the year. The improved windshield system should make them better suited to property maintenance, winter work and long days where changing weather is unavoidable.

The Prowler 800 Limited combines the enclosed cab with three-passenger seating, while the Prowler 800 Crew Limited provides room for up to six.

More WARN Winches Across the Lineup

WARN Axon winches are available on more Arctic Cat models for 2027.

The Axon design combines several major winch components into a compact package, allowing for a cleaner installation. More importantly, increased winch availability means more machines can arrive ready for snow removal, property work, trail recovery and other demanding jobs.

Winch capacity varies by model and trim, so customers should compare individual packages carefully. Select Alterra Limited models and full-size Prowler models are equipped with different winches based on the size and intended use of the machine.

This is a smaller update than the introduction of a new model, but it adds useful capability where many owners actually need it.

The Alterra 600 Remains the Centre of the ATV Lineup

Most of Arctic Cat’s adult ATVs return for 2027 without a major platform redesign. The Alterra lineup includes:

The standard Alterra 600 EPS provides 10.75 inches of ground clearance, 8.75 inches of front and rear suspension travel, a 1,050-lb towing capacity and 300 lb of combined rack capacity.

Customers can then choose a more specialized version based on how they ride:

• Alterra 600 EPS for general work and trail use
• Alterra 600 Limited for additional equipment and premium features
• Alterra 600 Mud Pro for deeper mud and more challenging terrain
• Alterra 600 TRV EPS for two-up riding

The returning Alterra 300 and 450 models continue to provide more affordable options for customers who want a lighter and easier-to-handle ATV.

A 12-Month Warranty Comes Standard

Every new 2027 Arctic Cat ATV and side-by-side includes a standard 12-month limited factory warranty.

That coverage applies across the lineup, including the youth-sized Alterra 110, the adult Alterra models and all six Prowler side-by-sides.

Arctic Cat may also offer temporary promotions that extend the warranty on qualifying purchases. Those promotions are separate from the standard coverage and may have specific dates, eligibility rules and model requirements.

A Lineup Focused on Practical Utility

The 2027 launch is not centred around a high-horsepower sport machine or an entirely redesigned ATV platform. Instead, Arctic Cat has concentrated on practical changes that make the lineup more complete.

The Prowler 500 gives customers a much-needed mid-size utility side-by-side. The Alterra 110 modernizes the youth category with a larger EFI engine and adjustable parent controls. Expanded winch availability and improved windshield equipment make select models more useful for year-round work.

It is also worth noting that no 2027 Wildcat sport side-by-side is currently included in Arctic Cat’s announced off-road lineup. That does not necessarily confirm the end of the Wildcat name, but the initial 2027 range is clearly focused on utility ATVs and Prowler side-by-sides.
